Tuesday 28th November - walks ***** – Sunrise The Dip to Felixstowe Ferry and Around Felixstowe with Maeva - sunny but chilly.

Walk 1.

With wall to wall sunshine forecast Mag and I decided to get up early and drive down to The Dip for a sunrise walk to Felixstowe Ferry arriving at 7.10. The sky was clear inland but there was a big bank of cloud on the horizon so it looked like sunrise might be a little delayed as we set of along the quiet prom with the wind light it was ideal for walking:) We got to the Martello with no sign of a decent sunrise, just a glimpse of sun as it broke the horizon but we bumped into an old friend out walking her dog and stopped for a chat. The full moon was still showing well and I get some nice pics of it as we walked around the boatyard as the sun started to appear above the bank of clouds. It was lovely walking back with everything bathed in a golden light, with the wind offshore the sea was flat but there was some great waves the other side of the shingle bar with a couple of small boats heading out against the tide. The sky was the most amazing blue as we walked back the way we came past the beach huts on the beach recently rearranged by the recent high tides and I got some nice pics of the waves once again breaking against the concrete steps:) Mag spotted a huge cloud in the shape of a pigeon and took a pic which was featured on ITV,s About Anglia for the second day running and another one chosen as BBC editers pick:) We were out over two hours walking 3 miles, what a brilliant start to the day. Home for breakfast and exercises before being asked to have Maeva for the afternoon:)

Walk 2.

So after lunch we walked around to pick up the lovely Maeva and then spent the afternoon with Mary our old friend and got some fantastic cuddles from Maeva:) We walked another 2.75 miles so two old people are pretty knackered but it was worth it as we had a great day:)
